Harvest Advent Shawl

It’s here! My latest shawl design: The Harvest Advent Shawl!

Days are short and nights grow cold; the air is cool and crisp and the fields turn to gold.  Autumn is my favorite time of the year, and running through the surrounding wheat fields is one my my favorite fall activities.

The Harvest Shawl is inspired by these fields that stretch across the rows of hills surrounding my home.   A wheat-sheaf pattern alternates with garter stitch sections to gently transition to the next color. Designed to be knit at a gradient, it is perfect to use for an Advent kit or a selection of leftover yarn.  By knitting one color a day, the shawl can be easily knit in the busiest month of the year: December.  Each color is a manageable amount of daily knitting.  The shawl is worked as two separate triangles that are grafted together at the end to form one large triangle.

Additionally, a recipe for almond, orange and cranberry Cantucci (biscotti) is included.  These cookies are quick to mix, easy to make, and last several weeks in an airtight container – perfect for a quick snack to go with your tea!

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to dlhamilton13 on Ravelry for testing, and for C. Mason for modeling!
